Day of Discovery

Day of Discovery | $90 USD per person – Book Now

  • See the rugged East coastline, a cliffscape toward the Atlantic.
  • Learn about “Old Montserrat”, a very different, magical version of the “Rock”.
  • Drive through our new town and business areas.
  • Appreciate new picturesque housing developments of those who lost everything.
  • Become an expert in andesite volcanoes and what REALLY happened.
  • If time and viewing-weather permits, lookover the vast devastation from Jackboy Hill.
  • And….. See our volcano from all possible vantage points! (Wish the clouds away for best results).

* In addition to the above, this tour also includes the Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) and captures breathtaking views of our volcano. Of course, a refreshing spring drink is waiting to cast its spell at Runaway Ghaut! You will also venture through the Belham River Valley which has been filled with over 25+ feet of volcanic debris since the beginning of the eruptions, from ongoing lahars that accumulate and come down the valley during rain storms. Ride into Richmond Hill to view our modern day Pompeii and see the remnant of our capital city in its a surreal form at a safe distance.

This tour lasts 6-7 hours and it is fabulous way to visit Montserrat for a day or to familiarize yourself with the island and begin your holiday. In addition to the regular guided tour Sun will show you other points of interest at your request.

Your Day Of Discovery adventure includes complimentary drinks, MVO admission, even MORE of a massive amount of history, positive northern developments, a look towards our island’s future, modern coping mechanisms, the surrounding areas of abandoned villages, and door to door service from your accommodations.

Lunch is not included, however we can stop at a restaurant of your choice midway through the tour. Try our local cuisine! We usually recommend a fabulously Montserratian ‘value for money’ spot, and they are aware we are still “on a mission” to complete the last half of our adventure. Fresh ginger beer anyone?
